Race Discrimination is prohibited under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Race discrimination is prohibited for employers with 15 or more employees, including state and local governments. The law apples to employment agencies and to labor organizations, as well as to the federal government.

The sex discrimination law makes it unlawful to discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of his/her race in regard to hiring, termination, promotion, compensation, job training, or any other term, condition, or privilege of employment.
